why did you create athlete lab?

When I began coaching youth soccer, I noticed something. So many kids genuinely loved playing the game, but their athleticism often held them back from fully enjoying it and achieving their goals. They were expected to run, defend, change direction, and control the ball before they had developed the movement skills to confidently control their own bodies.

I realized this wasn't just a soccer problem—it was an athletic development problem. One that exists across all sports.

As I began incorporating speed, agility, coordination, and strength training into practices, I watched those same athletes transform. They became quicker, moved with more confidence, and performed better on the field. Their movement improved first, then their sport improved. Most importantly, they started believing in themselves.

Seeing that transformation happen in kids inspired me to start Athlete Lab Hawaii. I enjoy helping kids and I want to help as much kids as possible to become better athletes no matter their sport or skill level.

Explore our training sessions to see exactly how we build strong movement foundations. Each session highlights cone-based drills, bodyweight progressions, and minimal-equipment movement work designed to improve agility, balance, coordination, and strength.

Watching these examples will give you a clear sense of pacing, coach feedback, and the positive, structured environment your young athlete will experience.
